Clun Valley Voices & Discovering Clun Castle
A Heritage Lottery Fund 'All Our Stories' project
November 1: Clun Castle We have at last got some examples of gatehouses for the Clun Castle model so Peter can complete the drawings. Our model maker, Robert Munn, is busy until Christmas with a job we were all involved with three years ago. It went dead and then revived itself recently. So work cannot start on Clun until after the Christmas break.
Kent Tomey is trying to arrange some dates for oral history recordings but this is, frustratingly, not proving easy, despite putting items in the Clun Chronicle and asking the children at the school for ideas. Three of the subjects that were suggested died rather suddenly and another had a stroke. However, we did record Colonel Raymond Savill talking about his interesting army career spanning many years; this has now been put into Clun Museum so that it can be heard alongside the uniforms and replica sets of medals that he donated to them. Wyn and Frank Wells have also been added to the oral history CD which is in the multi-cd player in the museum.
