Signage and Plans

The Dog Rose Trust has broken new ground with signage and a tactile plan for Brecknock Museum in Brecon. The signs are in both Welsh and English, and include Welsh and English Braille, as well as symbols specially designed for each area of the Museum.

The Curator, a dark haired man, is running his hand over the top one of three plans of the Museum. These colourful plans are mounted one above the other in a white wooden case and are displayed at a slight angle.

These symbols reflect the content of the galleries as well as the colour of the area in the Museum's Guide Book. A double love spoon represents rural life and the Scales of Justice represent the Assize Court with its sound and light show. The signs will be useful to all, especially small children, people who are visually impaired, or visitors with learning disabilities.
